Through out
our country people have to go to court every day. Very few ever get
to practice, yet, attorneys, law enforcement, (at every level),
witnesses and others in the system, not only are in court all the
time, but actually practice and train to be there. Why not you and
I? Beginning in January, and in each month thereafter, with the
possible exception of March, we are going to implement our “moot
court” educational program.
What is “moot
court”? Very simply, a moot court proceeding is just merely a court
room setting, complete with judge and adversarial attorney, that
enables one to participate and practice various methods of response
and actions in preparation for a particular action either for or
against the individual. We believe that the most intimidating part
of the courtroom is the basic lack of knowledge and experience in
the courtroom. FEAR: False Evidence
Appearing Real. Overcoming one’s fear
is having confidence and belief that one is prepared and capable of
acting on that confidence and belief.
In Las Vegas,
we have a meeting room set up like a court room, right down to the
gold-fringed flag. We will take up to 12 participants per weekend
and literally take each one “to court”. Each participant will have
1-2 hours (more if needed) of direct training, critique of method
and methodology, and practice in their particular case or
situation. Each participant will be filmed and recorded, a DVD of
their practice session made and given to that participant to take
home and review over and over. Even if one already has an attorney,
we can show you what potentially is happening and what to watch for
in your proceedings. Make sure your attorney is working for you, so
to speak.
We will take
RSVP reservations, paid in advance, for the weekends chosen. The
one caveat is that we reserve the right to move your weekend to the
following date if we do not have a minimum of 6 appointments for
each scheduled date/weekend. We have to travel to get to Las Vegas
as well and we want to make this as affordable as possible. In case
of emergency, just let us know and we will see what we can work
out.
We are very
excited about the possibilities that this educational experience
brings each of us. A cataloged library of cases can be made with
this format allowing us to eventually assist others with simply a
dvd request for a similar situation or circumstance. Consider
